I love when my High School Senior clients can let their guard down..just have fun and be themselves! It is a priority of mine to make my clients feel very comfortable and excited for their session. I can’t count how many times I have heard things like “I’m not photogenic” “I feel awkward getting my picture taken”, “I don’t like my smile”, or “I don’t like my (fill in the blank!)”. As a professional photographer, it is my job, but it’s also my desire for my clients to have had a wonderful experience, and to love their portraits. Those same comments that I hear at the beginning of the sessions are almost always followed up with “That was actually really fun”, “You made me feel so relaxed”, “Wow, I DO look good”, “Oh my God, I LOVE these pictures” at the end of the session. When I consult with clients, one of the first things I do is make sure they have seen my portfolio, and if they like what I have already photographed, it’s highly likely they will like their portraits as well. My point is, if you like my style of portraiture, posing, lighting techniques, and unique backgrounds, you will most likely love your own portraits because many of my clients in my portfolio started off telling me the same thing.
